With a lifelong interest in working with wood in many different
capacities, after retirement I concentrated on wood turning as
a project to keep me out of trouble. I attended John Campbell
Folk School in North Carolina to hone my skills and have been
making bowls, lamps, clocks and a variety of other items for many years. All of our products are food safe and washable. Our customers have a viable product that can be used and enjoyed for many years.
All of my work is warrantied and should there be a problem, we are
always willing to repair or replace the item for our customers.
We exhibit and sell my work at a number of Arts and Craft shows in
Georgia, North Carolina and Florida, but will also do custom work to my customer's specifications on most items.

OUR AGING FACILITY

Our products are lathe turned from the fine selection of local woods which nature provides me with. All of the wood is aged approximately
one year to reduce the moisture content to permit turning. The wood
is stored in a covered open sided shed and placed on supports so it
does not touch the ground. This protects the wood from the sun and
moisture,to allow it to dry slowly. The slow removal of the moisture
as part of the process prevents the finished bowls from cracking or
warping. After selecting the cured log, I try to envision the finished item,
by looking at the grain, color, knots and various other features.
Then the log is trimmed to rough size for mounting on the lathe
After turning, the item is sanded and then multiple coats of polyurethane
are applied
We work with about 25 different types of wood, including maple, elm, cherry
hickory,walnut,sycamore,birch,chestnut,cedar,peach and magnolia.
The Clocks and Chip n Dip dishes are made from laminated pine.
They are cut to the intended design.then my wife Helena performs
her magic with real ferns and flowers in the bottom of each item.
A clear epoxy is then poured in the bottom of the dish and finish
is applied. Each Chip n Dip contains a 1 cup pyrex dish with various
color lids for storage of the dip.
